Welcome to Seaside

Seaside is an iconic part of the story of 30A. Renowned globally for their groundbreaking design and thoughtful masterplan, Robert and Daryl Davis and their innovative collective of architects pioneered the design of a rural coastal development that changed the landscape of our cherished scenic highway and inspired its neighboring towns.

Candy colored beach cottages, each with a distinct picket fence design, line the brick paved streets of this quaint town. Seaside was designed so that every home is just a 5 minute walk to its town center, long cherished for its live music performances, theatre productions and movies on the green held weekly throughout the spring and summer.

Retro-inspired Airstream Row is one of Seaside’s most notable elements. Lining 30A is a collection of Airstream trailers turned food trucks serving a delicious array of bites including the world’s best grilled cheese sandwich, savory crepes, exceptional barbecue (and mac and cheese!) and world famous shaved ice from Frost Bites. Bud and Alley’s is one of 30A’s only Gulf front restaurants – its spectacular views, and crab cakes, have kept locals and guests coming back for over 30 years.

If Seaside looks familiar to you, it may due to its leading role in the Academy Award-nominated film The Truman Show. Not only will you recognize the town and many of the homes, you may also catch glimpses of several beloved Seaside business owners and 30A locals.

While in Seaside, make sure to stop by the post office for a quick selfie – it’s one of the most photographed post offices in the country – before venturing into Modica Market for their world famous carrot cake!
